dc.description.abstract | The epidemic of HIV/AIDS has stretched the already poorly resourced healthcare infrastructure in sub- Saharan Africa, including Uganda. Access to basic health care is limited to only 41% of the population.1 Annual expenditure per capita stands at just $12 (€10, £7), and 34% of the population live in absolute poverty (living on or earning less than $1 a day and unable to afford enough food to consume 2000 to 3000 calories a day).1 | en_US |
